
The Regional Arts Council of Zachary will host its First Annual Arts Scholarship Fundraiser on Saturday, August 6, 2016. The Zachary High School Jazz Band will open the evening with a selection of songs. The Sun Room, a jazz/funk/soul/R&B band comprised of Baton Rouge Magnet High students, will headline the evening. The Sun Room has played various venues including the Varsity, the Fire and Water Festival in Arnaudville, Louisiana, Ann Connelly Fine Arts, the Louisiana Arts and Science Museum, Lucy’s, Highland Coffees, and Atomic Pop Shop. A silent auction will help raise funds to support a scholarship for a graduating Zachary High student who is pursing the arts in college.

It’s out of the tower and on the run as a zany cast of friends and foes help Rapunzel’s harrowing escape from the towering imprisonment of Madame Gothel. Add a dash of French flair and a pinch of personal triumph and friendship and you have a story you won’t forget!
Join us on Saturday, October 1 when the Missoula Children’s Theatre and local students present an original musical adaptation of Rapunzel.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre will conduct a week-long residency in Zachary in late September. The week will be capped off with 50-60 local school age children starring in a full-scale musical.
There will be two performances on October 1, 2016 at Northwestern Middle School at 3:00pm and 5:30pm.
Tickets are $6 for children 12 and under and $10 for adults.

RACZ invites you to the 5th annual Fall Art Crawl!
Businesses along Main Street in Zachary and surrounding areas downtown invite artists to display their fine art to sell and open their doors to the public for approximately 3 hours on the Friday night of the event. There will be live music at various locations throughout the route as well.
The purpose of Fall Art Crawl is to stimulate economic growth in our local businesses, promote the sales of local artists, and raise funds for year-round arts programming.

Quartetto Obrigado is a Louisiana-based saxophone quartet dedicated to the performance and preservation of chamber music for the saxophone. Enjoy a medley of jazz, big band, and contemporary music!

Graduating from Louisiana State University’s music department, Quiana Lynell is able to harness her voice as a true instrument and perform various genres of music with precision and validity. Lynell will be accompanied by a pianist for a selection of jazz, gospel, and Americana tunes.

This jazz duo is made up of LSU professors Willis Delony and Bill Grimes. Delony and Grimes have been playing together for years and have released a duo album entitled Civilized Conversations. Willis Delony, a Zachary native, has won acclaim as one of the nation’s leading classical/jazz crossover artists. William “Bill” Grimes is the E. & D. White Professor of Jazz Studies, and a widely respected virtuoso jazz bassists.
